Sadie Parkin is a Registered Midwife and Lactation Consultant who has practiced midwifery in both rural and urban settings in B.C. for thirty years. Sadie graduated from the Seattle School of Midwifery Honours Program with highest academic standing. During her training, she worked in the Phillipines at the Jose Fabella Hospital in Manila, the largest maternity hospital in the world. She was part of a health care team managing 75-150 deliveries a day. She went on to work in The Midwifery Practice at B.C. Women’s Hospital in Vancouver. Subsequently she returned to her home, family and midwifery practice in the Comox Valley. Sadie serves on the Board of the College of Midwives. She is the mother of four children, all born at home with the love and support of midwives. In her spare time, Sadie enjoys singing in a blues band and gardening.
